On the last weekend of May, we shot our first St. Augustine wedding, with a great couple, Steve and Ashley. They got married in one of the oldest, if not THE oldest church in the nation, as it was built by the spaniards in the 1500's. We all had a great time capturing amazing images in the old town district, as we celebrated their special day with them. Thanks, Steve and Ashley, for inviting us to be your wedding-day photography team!

I love roller coasters. Sometimes you just have to let loose and enjoy a day of thrill-seeking, complete with screaming and losing your breath a bit. Riding coasters has a way of reminding you that your heart is still beating - ok, pounding while on the rides! - and that life is meant to be fun and a bit out of control every once in a while. So last week, Kara and I went with our friends Marcy and Stephen for a day at Busch Gardens. We mainly wanted to enjoy hanging out, while also starting our day with a unique engagement shoot at the park that Marcy and Stephen have enjoyed going to on many occasions. This couple is crazy-fun, as I think you'll see in the slideshow. We really enjoyed it and look forward to hopefully continuing to be a part of their photographic journey as they get married next year.

Last Friday I had the opportunity to capture another beautiful baby in her element - and home environment, with some lifestyle portraits of Addison, who is the baby of my Ocala friends, Scott and Brie. Addison has already caught on to how to be a princess model, as you'll see from the slideshow link below.

Thanks Scott and Brie for a fun time with the baby. I can't wait to document her first year every three months with you all. It's going to be amazing to see her change and grow in that time, then create a beautiful Storybook at the end.

Last week I went over to Brevard County to join a few other select photographers to speak at The Bridal Society meeting. It was awesome to present the latest trends in photography to our group of top-end vendors in the area.

The next day was even more enjoyable, as I met up with one of my Fall wedding couples, Emily and Brian, for their engagement session at Cocoa Village. These two fit the beach scene so well, as they are laid-back and easy-going as could be. They look great together and one can easily tell they love each other and make a great match, once you've been around them for any time at all.

I'm really excited about capturing their special memories for their upcoming wedding. It's going be a blast. Thanks, Emily and Brian, for giving me a bit of a taste of what a great time we're all going to have together on your big day!

Oh, and special thanks to Erica Lake with Uniquely Yours Wedding Specialists for the help assisting and hanging out with us. You're awesome, girl!

Last weekend I had the weekend off, due to a couple of big personal events. First, my girlfriend Kara graduated from the University of Florida's grad school program, with a Masters in Speech Pathology. I'm super-proud of her because of the devotion, commitment and smarts it took to finish this program the way she did. Way to go, girl! You rock!

Then on Sunday I raced a sprint triathlon at my parents' hometown of Englewood on the Gulf Coast. I won my age group and had a great time racing. Great win for Team Godspeed to open the season!

Here are some sample photos from Kara's graduation, including a group shot of her fellow Speech Path grads, and a portrait session that we set up here at my studio.

Last Saturday I had the awesome privilege of joining Marzena and Nick for their wedding, as their photography team. We had such a fun time and got some amazing images. Special thanks to Chris Kocher with C&C Photography for being my ace second photographer on this one. And thanks to Marzena & Nick for being such great "models."

Seniors rock! Recently I had the opportunity to work with a really fun high school senior named Jordan, on a senior fun in the park session. We had a blast and I'm really looking forward to more opportunities with this group this fall.

I'm really enjoying expanding my business this spring, as so many of you who have hired us to capture your wedding-day memories are having babies. Several of my closest friends have provided excellent "guinea pig" experiences for me to try out some concepts that I have been wanting to try. Check out these samples, and give us a call if you're expecting or have a cute baby that you'd like to have portraits taken of.

During my last trip to Orlando, I met up with a couple of close friends that I have known for over a decade. It's so neat to see their beautiful children get bigger and bigger every time I see them. Their third child is now just over one year old, and she is absolutely adorable. She needs to be on a magazine cover somewhere. We'll have to work on that ;o)

Lots of fun shoots this spring. Recently I got to visit friend Brett, his wife Candice and their son Cooper, for fun at their family farmhouse. We got some really unique images as I tried to visually tell their story, as well as capture the essence of their dream home and property and various animals such as goats, cows, donkeys, dogs, cats and rabbits). What a special treat, thanks a lot Hage Family for allowing me to enjoy the morning with you all!

I've been out West the past two weeks, starting last week with a visit to Las Vegas for the big WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Professional International) convention and trade show. This event is huge, with over 20,000 attendees each year. I met up with several other top-notch Central Florida wedding and portrait photographers, including a few from my home base area of Ocala and Gainesville. We all come back with lots of exciting new trends and tips on how to help raise the bar even more with our clients for our high-end services and products.

I'm excited to put all of this into practice in coming months. It should be fun.

Check out some of the quick I-phone snapshots I grabbed while there....
